Pictures worth a thousand words.

I had a different post scheduled for today, but decided to post another one instead. One that really gives a glimpse of what my life is truly all about.

I won't talk a lot, as the title of this post is "pictures" worth a thousand words. Not words worth a thousand words.

However, I do want to say this. I am so grateful that two years ago I started blogging. That two years ago, I decided to open my life up to the world and keep a record of our day-to-day joys, blessings, struggles, and challenges in this world.

And that two years later, I am a completely different person.

I am making a book out of my blog, and this brings all sorts of joy into my heart. I cannot wait to one day sit back and read through and relive some of the amazing memories of the past two years. No, I will not be putting "giveaways" and "random" posts in there. Those will be filtered out. But our life? Our pictures? Us being us? Those are going to be treasured. Permanent. A record for us to keep.

Many people out there are skeptical of blogging. Many will laugh at it. They have their own views and opinions on the matter. Often times people think that we are over-exposing. Or perhaps "telling too much." But, I have to disagree here. Whole-heartedly.

Blogging is much more than just writing down your recipes. Your fashion ideas. Giving advice, tips, and ideas to others. Blogging is much more than just that. To me, blogging is all about feelings. All about being real. True to you. And writing down your mark in the world. It may not be anything grande to you now, but it will mean the world to you later. It will mean even more to your children, and grandchildren.

Blogging can also make an impact in someone's life. We have the ability to influence. The ability to inspire. And at the same time, we ourselves, have the ability to learn from one another

Some of my posts will tell a story. Sometimes they will be funny. Sometimes they will be serious. Other times, I may post just "random" things going on in our lives... and often times? They will bore you to pieces. But that's okay, because these are moments i don't ever want to forget. And then there will be times when I like to post things on my mind. Write down my feelings. Pour my heart out. Put it all out there. Because we all need a little reminder on what life is truly all about.

And lastly, there will be times when I post an enormous amount of pictures of my daughter {like today}. Yes, it's because I love her to pieces and can't get enough of her. And yes, it's because I can't possibly choose just a couple to share. And yes, you are right, I am a proud mom.

But why do I really do it?

It's because I am capturing every piece of beauty in her. Every bit of life in her. The details. The little things.

And I never want to forget.

And blogging? Well that is what it's all about.                              The details.

Pictures. Worth a thousand words.

  1. LOVE these pics of E!! She has the most GORGEOUS blue eyes I have EVER seen!!

I LOVE reading your blog and never find it boring! If I did (or anyone else) they wouldn't follow you! :) I love reading your thoughts because we are both young wives and and working mothers. It is nice having "blogger friends" that you have something in common with and you can relate to! I think that is why you have so many followers! You are REAL (besides your name! haha) and we can all relate to you! :)

  10. Happy 2 years Becky. We all love following your journey, but in the end it will be so nice to have these moments to look back on when our memory starts to fail us. When they grow up and want to know what life was like when they were kids. These posts will be priceless.

Also, just curious, how are you making it into a book? I'd love to do the same...

    Happy Thursday!

  28. This is absolutely perfect. In so many different ways. Every single flipping word you said I feel the same way. Well, minus my gorgeous daughter...because well obviously I don't have one. I'm also awesome for us to see each other grow, change, be there for one another, and really just see the light in life as well as store memories forever. Thankful to follow and listen to your story.

  31. You know, I have been thinking a lot lately about how I shouldn't care if any of my posts are 'boring' or what not to other people because I am going to treasure them SO much some day! I already love going back and reading old posts and remembering what was going on in our lives. And THAT's why I blog! :) Your babe is absolutely gorgeous!

  33. Totally agree!!! I blog to keep a journal/scrapbook of everything that goes on in our lives, especially with the little ones. I don't ever want to forget these moments! I don't know many other people personally that blog and the ones that know I have one think it is silly, but I genuinely LOVE it! I am also glad to know I am not the only one who turns them into books. I have been doing that with mine for awhile now, and I am so in love with it ha It is just the perfect journal of our lives and I can't wait to be able to pass it on later or just to be able to look back on it. Awesome! Keep up the good work, your daughter is beautiful! :)

  36. Awesome! These pictures indeed are worth a thousand words. These are cute baby pics! Might as well include them in this collection: http://www.babypics.com/pics/a28

By the way. I think your baby seems always in a thoughtful and curious state. Now isn't that a first sign of intelligence? :) I think she has a lot of things going on in her mind.

  38. I LOVE the idea of keeping your blog posts as a book. I have another blog that I started on a private website about 6yrs ago, and now this one. I am in love with the idea of saving all of my posts... each one is a moment in time! Such a great way to look back and remember life at this time.

One question though (and it may be silly): how do you watermark your photos? I am getting a little more cautious about all the ones I post of my nephew.

Thanks so much, and have an awesome week?
