#4. Color with Chalk {25 things to do before E turns 2}

We have done this twice already. And I have taken pictures both times. However, I have a feeling we will be doing this much much more and the "art" of those E drawings will show much improvement. Thus, there must be a part two.
As for part one, the pictures I will show today were taken on March 8th, 2012 {on her 16 month birthday}. It was 70 degrees out. Yes, I said 70 and sunny and perfect. With a bit of wind in there... so it made it just a little too breezy to just wear a shirt.
Plus, it almost blew me away. Or maybe just E.
At first, she was more into just carrying around the chalk. And throwing it. Then setting them down. And picking them back up. Over, and over, and over again.
After a while though, she got into it. I showed her how I was drawing. Of course, I wrote "Elliana loves mama." Because she does. And shortly after, she copied me.
She obviously wasn't drawing pictures or art that will sell to millions.
But what she did draw was just as beautiful in my eyes. Gush. Mom moment.
So we spent a couple hours out there doing this.
And by the end? We had chalk on our faces. And mama dear was all sorts worn out.
From chasing the toddler around who, for whatever reason, just wanted to run down the drive away and away from me.
And since this post was written... we have colored with chalk more times to count. And? We are getting better and better at it.

I'm sure there will be a part two in our future.

  1. oh how fun! I bet she had a great time. G is only a few months younger than E, but she still puts everything in her mouth. We have tried coloring, but not chalk. Fun!
