The Joy of the Holidays through a Cup of Coffee

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It should be of no surprise to you all that I am a little, slightly, over-the-top obsessed with the holidays. I love everything about it. The way it brings people together. The way you have to bundle up in warm weather clothes {which of course includes fashionable boots, scarves, and belts}. The way we decorate our home to bring a sense of warmth, peace, and unity together. The way we are quick to give and the way we are thankful for the blessings in our lives.

Something that amplifies all the beauty that surrounds the holidays are the scents around us. It's everywhere we go. Whether it's in our home, at our grocery store, or driving through Dunkin Donuts to pick up your flavor of the season; pumpkin spice, gingerbread cookies, or mocha mint. My personal favorite? Pumpkin Spice. And since these flavors are seasonal and pass us by as the holidays end, it's always a tradition for husband and I to make "extra" trips during the holidays.

Another nice thing about the holidays and having the opportunity to enjoy these scents when the big day comes? We can do so in the comfort of our own home. Andrew will often pick up Dunkin’ Donuts® packaged coffee at our local grocery store. Then what do we do? We brew the coffee so it smells up our whole house, sit at the kitchen table {my mom included} and look through albums and bring up old memories that often time puts a big smile on our face.

We've even grown accustomed to the idea of throwing packages in as stocking stuffers or sharing them with our guests. They even come with cute little gift tags!

At the end of the day, all this talk of the holidays, all the decor that surrounds us, and the smells and aromas simply serve as a reminder of how quickly the holidays pass us by. How we are in such a rush to Christmas shop, wrap presents, and get our house in order that sometimes we forget to sit back and really enjoy this time of year, the meaning behind it, and the memories that we are able to create and look back on.

This year, my goal is to do more taking in, relaxing, and enjoying.

Thank you to Dunkin’ Donuts® packaged coffee at grocery for being a sponsor. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. All opinions expressed here are my own.

  1. I've been a silent reader for a few months now and decided it's time that I stop being quite so silent. Love your blog! It seems that you love the holidays just as much as I do:) I also love coffee and most everything pumpkin flavored this time of the year so I may have to pick some of this up- thanks for the recommendation!
