Pregnancy #2 details; Part Two; THE DAY

......part I here.
**All my pictures that I had planned to post were on my old cell phone that had broken... and unfortunately, I had not gotten the chance to load them yet. These pictures included the pregnancy tests, the picture of E with the chalkboard, and some beginning bump pictures. I can't get these back, and my heart aches because of it.

It's April now. We go to Chicago. We have a blast.
But I have one thing on my mind. I'm ovulating, and this is baby making time potential.

A few days later, I am paranoid. I test. Every day. Even though I know. I know its only been a couple of days. Its not possible to even have a positive.
So why was I driving myself completely insane? Why.

Then I was convinced. Its not happening. Not this month. I just don't feel it.

April 29th, I test. Negative.

I go to work that night {the 29th}. I come home the next morning, April 30th. I do the usual... GO to the bathroom. Pee on the stick.

Negative.
Throw in the trash. Then go to sleep and take a nap while Elliana snoozes. I'm exhausted.

We wake up. We eat lunch. And then I have to go use the restroom.
And before I leave... I see the pink packet in the trash containing the strip. The negative strip.

And for whatever reason... I wanted to see it again. And there it was.
The very faint almost invisible but definitely there PINK line. Next to the control line.
TWO.PINK.LINES

And then I realized... I need to test again! But CRAP! I just peed.

So I do what they recommend not to do. Drink lots of water... and then wait. And wait.

And then I pee. On the stick.
And while I wait I tell myself "It's not the morning pee Becky, and you just drank lots of water... don't kick yourself when its negative."

And its positive. Again. And I just had the greatest, second greatest, moment of my life. And I squuueeeell and I pick up Elliana and I dance with her. Literally dance with her in my arms all around the house.. twirling. She's giggling. And I'm giggling. And I'm shocked. Completely shocked. But excited. Oh so excited. And blessed. And thankful. And every possible emotion my mother instincts could feel. I feel them

In that moment. I am lost in that moment.

But there is someone else that needs to share this moment with us. Andrew. Papa. But he's at work. And I want to tell him in a cute way. What do I do?

I was so tempted to just call him right there and then. Lord knows, I can't keep a good secret.

But I hold it in. And I scurry to find ideas. And then I do the most practical thing I could think of. I grab the chalkboard and I write... the most beautiful words I could think of.

Elliana the BIG SISTER. Our daughter, our precious baby, a big sister. The words just melt me away.

And he comes home, and he sees it... and I'm pretty sure his first words were "You're PREGGO?!" with a big smirk on his face. Why yes husband, very romantic, but yes, I am P-R-E-G-G-O.

We hug. And we kiss. And within moments, I have to run out the door to work. Just a few minutes we had together to celebrate that special moment.

We kiss and say our goodbye's....

Me: Bye papa of two.
Andrew: Bye mama of two.
That has a nice ring to it.
Why, Yes. It does.

  36. Wow, Congratulations!!!! I just found your blog and you would never believe how eerily similar my circumstances are with this story. So much so, that after reading this post, I had to dig into my trash just to make sure that my test was still neg. I even bought the same pink and blue OPK's and preg test packages from Amazon on a whim because we're sorta kinda thinking about our second now too. Too funny! I hope you get to feeling better soon and I'm excited to follow you along this journey because we're hoping to be doing the same sometime soon. :)
