Our trip home with the first boo boo ever.

When this posts, we will be on our way home from our vacation. A good 12-13 hour drive home. Now, we only had 2 meltdowns on the drive here, but I have a feeling that we will probably have much much more on the drive home.

Why, you may ask? Because this beauty queen of ours got her first ever boo boo ever yesterday. I know. A little hard to believe right? With the way she runs around, I'm surprised this is the first. But I sure hope it will be our last because as traumatic as it was, I never ever want to go through that again.

Yesterday, as Elliana and I were getting ready to head out the door to go meet the rest of our family at the beach, she was running around the kitchen, and literally as I'm telling her to "stop running"...BAM! Down she went and the next thing I know I see blood running out of her mouth.

I scooped her up, investigated the damage, and cried a couple of mama tears while cuddling her close. And that really, truly sums up our last day on vacation.
I spent the next 5 hours just holding her, taking her outside, consoling her, holding her more, and lots and lots of singing and rocking. Rocking standing up. She doesn't like the sitting down rocking.

So the end result? A very very busted lip. A tooth that looks like it may have shifted slightly to the back, but not noticeable at all and I may just be seeing things, a heartbroken mama, and a very very sad whimpering princess. The worst part is when she tries to eat something she gets reminded all over again of the pain.

I might cry just thinking about how our trip will go tomorrow. Mainly because I know I won't be able to hold and console my baby girl

  2. Ohhh poor baby :( Amelia slipped in the tub once and busted her gums and shifting one of her front teeth. I spent the night holding her and loving her. It really does suck when our babies get hurt. I hope your trip home is calm.

  9. Aw! The poor dear... :( She's so cute and sweet. The boo boo probably hurt you more than it hurt her! You're such a great mama for being so compassionate though. :)

  14. Oh man, the emotions kids put us through. That's so hard. Might want to have a dentist look at the tooth. I heard it can look fine at first, but there could be nerve damage to the tooth and then it turns black.

  18. Poor baby! But my parents wouldn't have let me give it a second thought. I had a broken arm and stitches in my head before I was three! However, I baby my dog, so I can only imagine how I'll be. I'm positive that I will cry...

  21. Ohmigosh - Xander and I were walking yesterday and he took a face dive (like a half mile from our house), full on bleeding from the mouth. So this big ole preggo had to snuggle him up and truck him home as fast as I could - seeing my little buddy with a busted lip makes me so sad!
