12 & 13 week Bump Attack

12 weeks
Weight gain: 1lb total
Symptoms: Still reoccurring nausea. Definitely showing. Frequent bathroom trips.

How Mama is doing: Still the same. The sickness just comes and goes. For the most part though the food aversions are 24/7. I can't even stand the thought of food. Even stuff that I used to like. I literally just have to force myself to eat. And foods that I can eat? Very minimal. These include Reese's puffs, ice cream, soups, popcorn, hummus, and cheetos. Now that's what I would like to call strange.

How E is doing: She's great. The typical getting into everything and trying to discover the world. She learns a new word every day and goes through phases of being obsessed with something for a week at a time.

This past week: we went to Cleveland to visit Andrew's family {uncle, aunt, cousins, and grandparents}. We had SUCH a great time. Big sister was on cloud nine with the young boys and she absolutely soaked in all the attention. And lets not even talk about the pool. Girlfriend LOVED the pool.

Gender Prediction: This week, I can't imagine either. Honestly. It's weird. I feel like I have my girl.... does that make any sense? And at the same time...I just can't picture a boy... hard for me to even imagine. But obviously, I have to have one or the other right? Maybe it still doesn't seem real to me.

13 Weeks
Weight Gain: 3 lbs total {last time at this point in pregnancy... I had gained around 13-15 lbs already}

Maternity Clothes: No

Symptoms: food aversions, yes, but getting better. Wanting pickles ALL the time! Overall aches and pains from the "growing." And boy is the belly growing.

This week: Has been a good week. We went to my parent's house over the weekend because the power went out {what a joy} and big sister had an absolute blast. I had to actually work that weekend, so I just rested and caught up on sleep. It was nice to have all the extra pair of hands, in addition to papa.

My thoughts on this pregnancy/How I'm doing: SO different from the last. At first it started out similar, and then as the weeks progressed I started to notice how wrong I really was. I have aches that I've never felt before. Food aversions that are absolutely ridiculous {such as sweets and grill food}. I just feel so different from the last time. And yes, I still remember the last time. It was 2 years ago exactly.

How papa is doing: He's great. A lot of kisses of the belly and such which he's not one to usually be that way anyway. It's a nice little change

Gender Predictions: BOY BOY BOY! This week, one day, I just woke up and said... "it's definitely a boy." I didn't have a dream or anything {which is weird because by now I had had multiple with E}, and nothing of that nature. But I... just know. I have this crazy feeling that its a boy. And partly due to the fact of how different this pregnancy is for me. I have myself convinced that this just has to be a boy because thats the only reasonable explanation for all this. Right? And have we looked at my belly in the bikini picture on Thursday? So low. So different from my belly with E.

This week: We are going to grandma's house to swim. Hopefully mama and papa are able to sneak away and see the movie TED as well. Big sister has toddler time at the library, and we might be meeting up with some friends on Wednesday. Also less than a month until vacation time!!

Appointment in 1 week!

  12. Very adorable baby bump. I felt like the second & third time around my bump showed much quicker too. You look great and I definitely feel for you on the n/v stuff. I never made it through a pregnancy w/out at least one hospital stay to get fluids and electrolytes. But it is all worth it in the end! I can't wait for you to find out what you're having!:)

  13. Your bump is so adorable and you look fantastic. I'm currently 21 weeks and feel like a whale. I know what you mean about "feeling" its one or the other. With my daughter, I just felt and knew in my heart it was a girl while everyone said boy and she turned out to be a girl. This pregnancy, I just feel its a boy though we aren't finding out just yet. Keeping it a surprise. Good luck!!!

  14. I absolutely love that dress! I am guessing boy too. I was convinced I was having another girl because I was sick just like with my daughter and the baby had a high heart rate. We found out at 20 weeks it was a boy and since then his heart rate has been in the 140's.

This pregnancy has been much more painful too. I was shocked, but my doctor said it's very common for your second pregnancy to be more painful, but then the labor is usually easier.

I hope you start feeling better soon now that you're into the 2nd trimester! I can't wait to find out what you're having!

  16. I just had my second and the first one was a girl. My second pregnancy was also sooooo different. Night and day but my second was a girl too! I also know what you mean about already having a girl and not being able to imagine a boy. I was the same way. I couldn't imagine having either!

  23. I could have written this post (maybe I did write something similar, can't remember and too lazy to go look, ha!). My 2nd pregnancy was completely different from my first and #2 was a boy! I didn't like sweets, I carried him very low, and didn't gain much weight til the end. Hope you feel better soon and can't wait to hear the gender!

  27. You look awesome girl!! Such a cute bump!

  28. I read somewhere that Mother's intuition on gender is about 75% accurate. I had strong boy feelings with both boys, dreams and all. With our girl, I predicted girl but had dreams it was a boy? Weird. I'm going with your guess of boy though!!

  32. Congrats to you guys!! My husband and I are currently pregnant with our 2nd (I'm 23 weeks) and my pregnancy is completely different from the first. I thought for sure this would mean we were having a girl, since our first was a boy. Low and behold, we're having another boy!! You just never know! Can't wait to hear!
