4am appears to be the new 7am. My internal clock is jacked.

This morning {February 22nd, 2012} I woke up at 4am {since then, I've been doing it more often... more on that later}. Wide awake. UP. First, I begged husband to go downstairs, hurry, and get me something to drink. I always do this. And after much begging, poking, and prodding, he finally huffed and puffed downstairs and brought me diet dew, per request. And after downing the drink, I was ready to get the day started.
I first headed to the computer. Worked on a couple blog posts, and browsed pinterest for a bit. After getting my blogging fix in, I headed downstairs. Loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen, "tidied up" the downstairs, and threw in a load of laundry.

E must have heard the commotion because she was up super early this morning at 630. I went and got my snuggles in, changed the diap, and brought her downstairs to fix her sippy cup of milk.
Then we headed upstairs to wake up the husband who had since pressed snooze one too many times.

And one of the first things he said to me? "Can you go make me a PBJ sandwich please."

Sure. So we did that. Popped in baby Einstein {aka baby GENIUS}, and made hubs a PBJ and filled a little baggy of grapes. And although you may think this is his lunch, it is not. It is simply part of his breakfast.

By the way, my husband is a man child. But, I really can't hate, because I too, along with the E princess love the protein and fruit on wheat. Breakfast of champions.

Moving on. It's like 715 now and I decide it's time to make the chicken noodle soup so it would be ready for our lunch. Chop chop the veggies, chicken, get all my pots out, get the water going, turn on some music {not really}.... I was in the zone. And the delicious smell just kept me going.
By 9am, both babies were fed {i mean...E and the husband}. The house was spotless. Lunch was cooking. Two loads of laundry done. And the dishes were cleaned.

ME? And E? Were ready for the morning nap. And although it took me about an hour to fall asleep.... eventually I did.

And to my surprise when I woke up? It was BEAUTIFUL out. Gorgeous. So baggy eyes and all, I dress the bambino and we are out the door within minutes. And we spent the next hour and a half running around the house, enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

E particularly enjoyed getting the mail. And when the BLUUM box came for her, which she knows its for her, she was ready to rip into it. That and the rest of the mail.
That was fun.

Here, E and Carson were having a little conversation through the door. Although, I have to say, I think she was having all the fun, and he was pretty distraught over the fact that we were outside and he was not. We are cruel.
Clearly, he is enjoying himself. Just as much as Elliana is.
I made E run a few laps too.                   What? Gotta work off those peanuts and fruit!
Took a few breather breaks.
Drank water and ate snacks. Refueled.
And did more prancing and prowling around.
This has definitely been the best winter yet, weather and all.
Especially when the days start at 4am.

  5. I live for early mornings. Not during the week when I just wake up to work... but Saturdays when I can wake up and clean. It starts SUCH a productive day and just gives you the feel goods. I also LOVE to go grocery shopping at 4 or 5 am. Crazy? Maybe. But I love to shop without crowds.

  15. Love her puffer vest! I would totally get up at 4 am too. It would feel so good to get things done instead of doing them while baby is up and feeling guilty :( If only she slept through the night...one day.. Good for you!

  16. Adorbs mama!!! I wish I had the shear strength to wake up at 4 am, but 6 am has been my thing the past few days and I'm hoping that sticks!! That gives me approx 2 hours of me time before the girls awake so I'm hoping to be as productive as you are!! Xo
